Conversations become commitments in a deal room — a shared, structured space where the parties to an agreement draft terms and sign, all inside Venet.
Creating a deal room
From any DM, type /deal (or use the deal action in chat). The room opens with you and your counterpart. Need more parties — a co-founder, a lawyer, another investor? Invite them at creation with /deal: their@email.com or add them later. Invitees get a notification and the room appears in their Deals list.
Inside a room
- Deal document — a free-form document area for the agreement text
- Structured fields — key terms captured as fields so nothing hides in prose
- Templates — start from a template instead of a blank page
- Participants — everyone in the room, with edit permissions controlled by the creator
Signatures
When terms are ready, parties sign inside the room. Signatures are recorded per participant, and the room's status reflects where things stand — draft, in progress, or signed. Deleting a room requires approval from participants, so nobody can make an agreement vanish unilaterally.
Where deals live
The Deals page lists every room you're in, sorted by activity. The originating chat also carries a deal card linking back to the room.
Deal rooms and Venet Pro
Creating deal rooms is a Venet Pro feature. If you're on the free plan, you can still participate fully in rooms others invite you to.
Good practices
- Put the essentials in structured fields, not just prose
- Invite every decision-maker at the start — fewer surprises at signing time
- Use the room as the single source of truth; link it in your chats instead of re-explaining terms
