Discover & Connections: how founders find each other on Venet

July 19, 2026 · by the Venet team

Cold outreach has single-digit response rates. On Venet, discovery is warm by default: everyone you can see has been vetted, and everyone expects to be contacted. Here's how the pieces fit together.

The Discover page

Discover lists members and startups side by side:

  • Founders — filter by industry, role, and what they're looking for
  • Startups — browse company cards with logos, stage, and one-line pitches
  • Raising now — founders with open raises surface with a raising badge

Each card opens a full panel: bio, skills, startup details, and the actions you can take — connect, message, or book a meeting.

Connection requests

Hitting Connect sends a request the other member accepts or declines. Once accepted:

  • A DM channel opens automatically for both of you
  • You appear in each other's My Network list
  • Your connection count grows on your profile's track record

Requests are intentional — a short note on why you want to connect converts far better than a bare request.

My Network

Your accepted connections live in one list, with quick actions to message or book a meeting with any of them. This is your personal CRM inside Venet: every relationship in one place, one tap from a conversation.

Weekly intros

Venet also suggests introductions — members you haven't met who match your industry or goals. Intros arrive as notifications; act on the good ones and connect in one tap.

Tips for better matching

  1. Fill in "who I want to meet" — matching leans on it heavily
  2. Keep your industry and stage current — filters only work with good data
  3. Upload a real photo and logo — cards with faces get more clicks
  4. Open a raise when you're raising — you'll surface to investors automatically
