Meetings on Venet: book a call in two taps, join in one

July 19, 2026 · by the Venet team

Scheduling a call usually means five messages, two calendar apps, and a pasted Zoom link. Venet compresses all of it into two taps.

Booking a meeting

From any chat (or a member's profile), open Book a meeting. The sheet shows:

  • Suggested time chips — the next three workdays at 10:00, 15:00, and 18:00 in your local time. Tap up to three.
  • Custom times — add any date and time if the suggestions don't fit
  • Auto video room — every meeting gets a unique video call link generated automatically. No account needed, works in any browser. Prefer Google Meet or Zoom? Paste your own link in Options.
  • Options — title, note, and duration (15 min to 1 hour) are pre-filled and tucked away until you need them

Hit send, and the request lands in your chat as a meeting card.

Accepting a meeting

The other person sees the proposed times as tappable pills right inside the chat. One tap confirms the meeting. They can also propose new times or decline. When a slot is picked:

  • The meeting is added to both calendars automatically
  • The card flips to a confirmed state with a countdown
  • Both sides get a reminder 30 minutes before the call by email and notification

Joining

Fifteen minutes before start, the card switches to a pulsing "Live now — Join" state. One tap opens the room. The next confirmed meeting also shows on your dashboard with a Join button.

Instant calls

Type /meet now in any DM and a live call card appears immediately — no scheduling, just a room that's already open. Perfect for "are you free right now?"

Managing meetings

  • Withdraw a request you sent, or cancel a confirmed meeting — the other side is notified and calendars update automatically
  • Propose new times re-opens the sheet with the original details kept
  • Your Calendar page shows an Upcoming Meetings strip with Join links
